For holistic development of a child, the learning of life skills is equally important to the knowledge of subjects.
Cooking teaches various life skills such as eating healthy, maintaining cleanliness, budgeting the proportion, ability to work in groups, and so on. On note of this, the school organized My Plate MY Salad on Tuesday, 16th of November 2021, for grade 3,4 and 5. The students were assessed on creativity, presentation, cleanliness, taste and healthiness of the dishes. It was a group work.
They presented their dishes in very creative ways where carrots were carved to Stars and Hearts, Apple to a bird, Fruits to a coconut tree, etc. The students incorporated innovativeness to their dishes, simultaneously enhancing their aesthetic skills. The focus was made on keeping hygiene and maintaining cleanliness.
